Deborah has lived in Independence most of her life. She loved art and painting sense she was a child. As a young mother she worked as a window display designer.
When her daughter left home she went back to school and got a Commercial Art Degree from Missouri Western University in 1993.

After college she went to work for a giftware company as a designer of giftware such as t-shirts, baby items and bookcovers. She also designed catalogs, business forms and advertisements.

After three years she moved on to work for her husband's company Tale-A-Visions (historical folklorist Jim Two Crows Wallen) as promotional materials designer, DVD &CD cover designer, book illustrator and office manager.

About ten years ago she found a great pastel teacher and fell in love with pastel. She has been painting with pastels ever sense. Deborah has entered and won several shows with her paintings including Best of Show at the Missouri State Fair. Deborah has also had a couple of one woman shows and had paintings in several galleries.

She also works in scratchboard, scimshaw, and acrylic.

Deborah beleives being a part of the Green Dog offers her an oportunity to be part of an exciting adventure, to be part of a team of artist, to be energised by the creative admostphere, and to give the public a chance to see her luminus colorful pastel paintings.

She lives in Blue Springs, MO with her husband and their dog Brendi.
